Navy Stadium Before & After

Navy Stadium Before & After

September 16, 2014

Football season is here!  We are celebrating with this ‘before and after’ photo of the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium that was a Gardiner & Gardiner job years ago. Construction started in late February during bad weather, and finished in time to hold the Midshipman graduation ceremony the 1st week of May.

The Stadium at the intersection of  Rowe Blvd & Taylor Ave in Annapolis, MD seats 34,000 people. It is the home field of the Navy Midshipmen football team, the men’s lacrosse team, and the Chesapeake Bayhawks lacrosse team.

Project details:  Special artificial turf field addition; lowered the playing field approximately 10 feet so seating could be added; created site pathways and entrances; added risers and seats; repainted as needed, and used special cementitious concrete.

The stadium originally opened on September 26, 1959.   BGC | G&G is happy to keep close ties with the Department of the Navy and committed to keeping the stadium looking good in years to come.
