Back To School Builds

August 17, 2016

It’s that time of year again: back-to-school. The kids may feel sad because that means that summer is over; the parents might feel relief because it means they finally get some peace and quiet. Here at BGC | G&G, we are feeling nostalgic about all of the schools we helped build. Here are a few fondly remember:

In Annapolis, we oversaw the construction for three schools: Annapolis Area Christian School (1995), The Key School (2009), and Aleph Bet Jewish Day School(2010). Our construction on Annapolis Area Christian School included classrooms, laboratories, athletic fields, and a hexagon-configured library with split-faced masonry and wood truss roof framing. Our construction on The Key School earned us an A+; we received numerous for our work. The Aleph Bet Jewish Day School is one of our cheeriest-looking buildings with combination Nichiha and Hardiboard panels painted bright blue and yellow and stone facing.

West of Annapolis in Dodge Park, MD, we constructed the Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School. It features a beautiful, open courtyard in the center of the building. Our additions included: a large gymnasium, an auditorium and stage, and a commercial kitchen.

Across the Severn River, we built the Chesapeake Montessori School in 2007. It’s the perfect place for students to start their education. Our ground-up work included a library, several classrooms, and administrative offices.

We wish everyone a fun and educational school year!
